Poachers to Protectors – My Journey with SamPixPro in Mangalajodi
For me, bird photography has never been just a hobby—it is a passion, a learning journey, and a way to connect deeply with nature. Through my platform SamPixPro, I share my experiences, bird photographs, and stories from the wild to inspire more people to appreciate and protect nature.
Over the last 10 years, I have photographed more than 350 species of birds, traveling across wetlands, forests, and natural habitats. Every bird, every frame, and every moment in nature has taught me patience and respect for wildlife.
Among all the places I have explored, Mangalajodi remains one of the most special destinations in my journey.
Discovering the Magic of Mangalajodi
My first visit to Mangalajodi was unforgettable. The vast wetlands, morning mist, and the sight of thousands of migratory birds created a magical atmosphere. As the sun slowly rises over the water, flocks of birds begin flying across the sky, and the wetlands come alive with sound and movement.
For a bird photographer, this place is truly a paradise.
But Mangalajodi is not only famous for its birds—it is famous for its incredible conservation story.
A Story That Inspired My Documentary
Years ago, bird poaching was a serious problem in this region. Many local villagers hunted birds to survive. However, with the support of conservation groups and awareness programs, the community gradually transformed.
The same people who once hunted birds eventually became their protectors.
Today, many former poachers work as bird guides and conservation guardians, protecting the wetlands and helping visitors experience the beauty of migratory birds responsibly.
This powerful transformation deeply inspired me.
A Protector with a Camera
While I was never a poacher, I strongly believe that every wildlife photographer has a responsibility to be a protector of nature. Through my photography and storytelling under SamPixPro, I try to raise awareness about birds, wetlands, and wildlife conservation.
Photography is not only about capturing beautiful images—it is about sharing stories that can inspire people to protect the natural world.
The Challenges Behind the Passion
Wildlife photography is a beautiful but challenging passion. It requires patience, long travel, early mornings, and often significant personal investment in equipment and time.
Maintaining this passion alongside regular responsibilities has not always been easy.
Without the continuous support of my family and friends, it would have been extremely difficult to continue this journey. Their encouragement and belief in my work helped me pursue this passion and keep documenting the beauty of nature.
Creating the Documentary: Poachers To Protectors
My experiences in Mangalajodi eventually inspired me to create a wildlife documentary titled “Poachers To Protectors.”
This documentary highlights:
The past history of bird poaching in Mangalajodi
The remarkable transformation of the local community
The beauty of migratory birds visiting the wetlands
The importance of community-driven conservation
Through this film, I wanted to show how people and nature can coexist and protect each other.
The Mission of SamPixPro
Through SamPixPro, my mission is to inspire people to explore nature, appreciate birds, and understand the importance of conservation.
With 350+ bird species photographed over the past decade, this journey is still continuing. Every new bird, every new wetland, and every conservation story motivates me to keep documenting and sharing these experiences.
A Message for Nature Lovers
The story of Mangalajodi proves that positive change is possible. When communities, conservationists, and nature lovers come together, even the most difficult environmental challenges can be overcome.
Through SamPixPro and my documentary “Poachers To Protectors,” I hope to inspire more people to respect, appreciate, and protect our natural world.
Because protecting nature today means preserving life for tomorrow.
